Community Involvement

Brian founded Big Futures Charity Hockey Tournament (formerly Puck Cancers). "I have cancer" is a scary thing for a child to hear from his or her parent. This situation can impact the child into adulthood. Big Futures Charity Hockey Tournament builds awareness and fundraises for Twin City non-profits who have programs to educate and provide support for these kids.

April 2019 will mark the 6th Annual Big Futures Charity Hockey Tournament. To date, they've had well over 500 participants and raised over $92k.

Brian and Michelle threw in a hand to help pack over 80 Chemo Duck bags which were later donated to hospital partners across Minnesota. The Chemo Duck bags will be distributed to pediatric cancer patients as a learning tool and special friend as they go through their treatment.

Brian has been involved with various community engagements over the years: coaching 12-14 year olds in the Minneapolis Youth Baseball Association, leading group discussions with underpriviledged adults at Basillica of St. Mary's of Minneapolis Pathways program, co-founded a chess club at the St. Paul YWCA for at risk youth called IMPACT.
